A Day Off Of Life.

Hello lovelies!
So I've been at uni for quite a few weeks now but those summer holidays still seem way too far out of reach! So instead of being miserable and counting the days until they arrived, I decided to have a mini holiday during the semester instead.

This semester I'm lucky enough to get Friday's off uni, which I usually spend doing nothing but rolling around on the ground and groaning about all the work I have to do on the weekend (you think I'm kidding). So back in August I decided to take a Friday off and visit the botanic gardens with my mum. It was such a lovely day and I made a point to not think about uni work for the entire time. There is something so calming about just walking around and looking at all the beautiful plants, or sitting by the lake and watching the ducks with their babies (so cute!)

So basically I just wanted to make this post to remind you that it is okay to take some days off every once in a while! You don't have to do anything extravagant, just take some time to really enjoy all the beauty that's around that you would normally pass without noticing on your busy days.

Where is your favourite place to relax?

Erin.

Some Rambling...

Hello lovelies,
I'm not sure if any of you have noticed since I have my posts on a queue at the moment, but I've been really slacking on my posts which is quite upsetting since I got so into blogging in July, but then university came around and my motivation to do anything other than sleep just went down the drain.

University is stressful at the moment, and to be honest I don't enjoy it at all. I'm not sure why I stay there....

Anyway, how are you all? Even though it's winter here we've had some absolutely beautiful days and I made the most of them by setting up a picnic blanket in the backyard and soaking up the sunshine. I also put tiny plaits in my hair as a spur of the moment thing and I love them! I should probably take them out soon but I like them a little too much for that (as you can probably tell by all the photos I took of them!)

This post doesn't really have a point but I just felt like rambling. Hopefully uni gets better soon and I get some inspiration for some new blog posts! Until then, stay wonderful.

Over and out,
Erin.

Doodle Tag

So I was tagged by the lovely Flora from The Last Post to do this tag. I've seen a couple of blogs doing it, and was surprised to get tagged! So thankyou Flora :)

So basically here are the rules:

1. Draw your pen
2. Write your name in a font that expresses you. (Or your blog name!)
3. Draw your favourite animal
4. Doodle
5. Tag 3-5 bloggers.

Here is my one! (As soon as I started I remembered that I can't actually draw at all haha so enjoy my attempt!)

The four bloggers I tagged are:
1. Barbora from abitconfusing
2. Rachel from racheliselsewhere
3. Danielle from makeupandfashiondanielle
4. Eliza from elizapeta

I also tag anyone else that wants to give it a go!

Over and out,
Erin.

My Uni Style.

Hello again everyone!

I thought I'd make a quick mid-week post asking how you're all going! How's school? University? Life? Back in the second week of the uni semester I took these photos of what I wore to uni each day, in the winter I pretty much just alternate between long pants and dresses with stockings. I just love the way dresses with stockings and boots look!

You might recognise Thursday's dress from the alteration I did on it back in this post that was the first time I had ever worn it out in public and within the first 10 seconds of me getting off the bus at uni someone complimented it! It definitely made me smile for the whole day.

Also, yes.... I am wearing the same pants on Tuesday and Wednesday, go ahead and judge me I don't mind!

Do you guys like having once a week posts? Or would prefer to see some more frequent posting from me? Let me know please x

Well that's it for now!
Over and out,
Erin.

Sewing Alteration || Tartan Shirt

Hello lovelies! I am back with a new sewing post! University takes up a lot of my time so I'm always grateful for some spare time to do what I want! Recently that involved altering my dads old tartan shirt into something I could wear as the weather transitioned from thick jumper weather to more 1/2 and 3/4 sleeves. Enjoy!

Being the professional blogger I am, I forgot to take a picture at the very start! ahh! So in picture 1, the shirt has already been taken up to my length. Before it was down way past my bottom and the sleeves fell well over the ends of my hands (hence why the sleeves are rolled.

2. I then put a bit of gathering in the back of the shirt to make it look more fitted for a feminine shape rather than a male!

3. I used the material I cut off when I took the shirt up to make a bow to sew onto the back of the shirt.

4. I sewed the bow to the back of the shirt and added some lace for a more girl touch.

5. At the last minute I also decided to add some lace around the collar of the shirt.

6. The finished product!

I really like how this shirt turned out, and decided to pair it with my grey-green jeans and a simple black singlet, to make the shirt the statement piece!
I have way too much fun taking photos

Do any of you like to alter your old clothes to make them into something new? Maybe you alter someone elses clothes like me....

Hope you all have a lovely week!

Erin.

How To || Upcycling Glass Jars and Bottles.

Hey everyone! I hope you've all had a lovely week. My post for this week is another "How-To"! (Are you noticing a pattern here at all?) I promise for next week I will have something different for you!

So as you know from my last post I recently had a major clean up of my room, and I wanted some pretty decorations to place here there and everywhere that could be useful and pretty at the same time! So..... *drumroll please* I decided to do some up-cycling!

What's up-cycling I hear you ask?
I think it is a fantastic idea, and it's also good for the environment too! So I thought I'd show you some of the different ways I have up-cycled glass jars and bottles.

1. As a stationary holder:

For these jars I made a collage of my favourite pictures on picmonkey.com which is a very easy to use and free website! I then stuck the collages onto my jars with contact and painted the screw top. Easy peasy and pretty!

2. As a jewellery/hair item holder:

I used these ones to hold my bobby pins, rings and little bits and bobs. For the jar with my name I stuck letter stickers on first and then painted over the top. Simple simon!

3. As a decoration:

That's all for now but I'll definitely be adding more when we have some more empty jars!

Which one is your favourite? Have you ever upcycled?

Over and out,
Erin
